ASHES, 10min., Canada
Directed by Charles-Antoine Thériault
Over time, nature wilfully and circumstantially adapts to its environment, but when the cyclical clash between evolution and cataclysm occurs, nature’s fight to reclaim its place often leaves scars that endure for many seasons. “Ashes” recounts the tale of a Heron and the 62 Lakes under his watchful eye, of the creation of these watery masses that now encompass the region of Saint-Hippolyte – a tragic tale of self-sacrifice that has become an eternal legend.

UNDERLINE, 6min., USA, Dance
Directed by Paula Nunez, Tiger Tao
Tampa City Ballet’s short independent film, “UN-DER-LINE,”as well as the live performance of the same name examines the manifestation of the “othering” phenomenon which explores the effect exclusion has on people’s perception of themselves, the world, and their place in society. This concept reflects a clear distinction between “us” and “them,” the “self” and “the others” and is inspired by the exploration of tunnels and other things that hide beneath the surface.

SAINT, 10min., USA, Dance
Directed by Yi – Han Audrey Chou
Saint seeks to present a process of evolution that is about spiritual change, technology, and identity of a human being. Through the transformation in 3 layers of clothings, which represent the past, present, and future in time, the identity of the dancer was exposed through the generating and regenerating of visual and movement languages; a 15 mins dance performance with a storyline will be made to present the story of this process, leading the audience to search their personal identity and questioning about the direction of the world through presentations of movement and visual language while observing the change that is happening during the performance.
