Depicting a variety of scenarios all playing with the concept of the deadly sins, we showcase Mystic Magic’s fascination with dark, animalistic luxury couture. In today’s society more than ever the deadly sins powerfully elucidate some of the core emotional drivers of human behaviour which we explore in this avant-garde style short film.

With an extremely sharp imagery, this short directed by Damien Krisl treats elusively the adverse effects of media manipulation. The viewers face an empty room which immediately builds up like a metaverse environment or a sims game house. With every object planted coming from the Space Age era and styling inspired by retro fashion, the film plunges us into retro futurism ; the future that never came. People’s idea of the future years – which in fact rarely end up like we’ve imagined – is paralleled here with the desirable messages sent by media. The latter made to obsess, over the unreal. Kim Schell embodies here the perfect role of the lonesome girl, with only her TV to talk to, dragging her inside, only to discover the tunnel of hidden reality.

GADGETS, 4min., Brazil
Directed by Perfectum Planetarum
Film about the Perfectum Planetarum’s collection GADGETS is inspired by how modern gadgets fill people’s lives. The clothing features repeated sculptural and geometric shapes, sometimes taking inspiration directly from the modern electronics themselves. The designer experimented with sculpture to create a look and feel reminiscent of modern gadgets. They also explored how to combine hardware with the human form and animatronics to increase functionality. The goal was to contrast the esthetic appreciation of modern technology with the fundamental way humans interact with the world through their shape and movement. The designer conducted several experiments in humanoid sculpture to determine the best way to achieve this.
