DANCING MAN, 23min., USA
Directed by Robert Steven Mack, Clarisse Gamblin
David, a young and quixotic dancer, is confronted with the decision of whether to stay at a Midwestern ballet company with his new love interest Gabrielle or follow a promising choreographer to New York to chase his pipe dream of dancing in Golden Age musicals. Featuring vibrant cinematography, an elegant score by Yi-Chen Chiang, and toe-tapping choreography by Chris Lingner, Dancing Man showcases dancers from IU Ballet Theatre and Indianapolis Ballet in this colorful and bittersweet dramedy about conflicting passions.

SPINNING HUG, 3min., Spain
Directed by Omar Perez Rosales
A dance film that has as it’s premise to explore the
poetic and romantic union of two objects, such as the
spinning top and the rope and how do they give each
other heat, warmness and safety by intertwine
themselfs in to a hug, which will help them to generate
an endless spin similar to the one of the earth on its
own axis.

MY HEART IS A PURPLE FLOWER, 9min., USA
Directed by Taso Papadakis
Celebrated dancers Jennifer Hong (of Chinese decent, Los Angeles based) and Mariia Bakalo (Ukraine) move spontaneously in a contact improvisation, ritualistic dance poem for the camera of Taso Papadakis. The melodic soundtrack is also improvised by “Quartetto Fantastico” a group of talented, adventurous and classically trained musician hailing from Los Angeles.

DEVOURING STONES UP CLOSE, 9min., USA
Directed by Zap McConnell, Cat Rider
A non-linear dance film that serves as a visually poetic abstract expression of personal and shared rage, artistic harvesting, and channeling the spirit of those whose land we walk, create and dance on.

CLEPSYDRA, 21min., Norway
Directed by Victoria Beate Wælgaard
Clepsydra is a dance film and an investigation into repetitive patterns and movements in our daily habits and routines, as well as the relational conditions in interaction with other people. Using tableaus, Victoria Wælgaard has investigated in how to work with interactive design, dance and movement in a cinematic frame.
