Palanquins of the Soul, 4min., South Korea
Directed by Seung-il Chon
Palanquin of the soul (Youngyeo) is palanquin that holds souls the deceased in traditional Korean funerals. In traditional Korean funeral culture, when a person dies, it was considered that ‘soul’ and ‘body’ were separated, so that ‘soul’ returned to the sky and ‘body’ returned to the ground. In the funeral procession, ‘Youngyeo’ moves in front of the funeral bier. This means that the spiritual separated at the same time as death moves ahead of the body.

Self-Mimetic, 3min., France
Directed by Christophe Chudy
Through a beauty and fashion story , « Self Mimetic » unfolds as a philosophical introspection on the perception and projection of our own image. What dialogue do we hold with the reflection we shape? Do we draw closer to ourselves when we mold our image, or do we drift further away from who we truly are?

Simple Random Walks, 7min., USA
Directed by Larry Cuba
A simple random walk is a discrete-time stochastic process that describes a path generated by a sequence of random steps. Starting from a defined point, in this case, the origin, each step is taken with a fixed probability in a fixed direction. The crucial characteristic is that the direction of each step is chosen independently of all previous steps. A line traversing these paths is repeated and elaborated with standard symmetric and phasing transformations creating an elegant geometric ballet.

DYNAMICS, 14min., Netherlands
Directed by Teo Baehler
DYNAMICS (Frozen Movements) is an experimental, dreamy and surreal stop-motion film, created using everyday materials. The film offers a visual reflection on transformations that emerge through the intuitive blending of dissimilar elements. The result is a non-narrative art film where fantasy, form and texture merge into a sensory experience.

Hair Trails, 7min., Estonia, Poetry
Directed by Sirel Heinloo, Einar Lints
A great long braid becomes the guiding thread of this poetic short film. It begins on the edge of the world in Norway, where the mountains and the ocean awaken a voice hidden in the strands of hair. That voice leads the storyteller back to another edge at home – the ancestral lands of South Estonia, a branch of roots only recently revealed. Through landscapes and inland waters, the film asks: when hair begins to speak, what will you dare to ask?
