Founded in 2015 and led by the award-winning creative team of Miranda Winters and Rocky Romano, Los Angeles based Winters Rock Entertainment is a leading producer of thought provoking and cinematically stunning non-fiction content. Pioneers in the UHD unscripted space, the team at WRE has created and produced 8 television series currently airing in over 200 million homes in 45 countries around the world.
Their work focuses on the motivations and boundaries of the human spirit and spans from the unforgiving streets of Los Angeles, California (LAPD K-9 Division) to the massive waves of Nazaré, Portugal (Red Chargers). The team has the unique ability to provide audiences with a behind the scenes look at some of the most tight-knit and seldom seen communities on the planet. From the men and women that push the limits of human flight (Beyond The Edge), to the struggles and recovery of the Godfather of the Westsiders, a surfing brotherhood that ruled the Westside of Santa Cruz, California (Learning to Breathe), and currently to the tragic and inspiring story of professional MMA fighter Marcus Kowal forced to take on a corrupt system after losing his son to a drunk driver (The Highest Bidder), they continues to push the level of documentary film and doc-series storytelling. Their work has been featured on HBO, ABC, NBC, ESPN, RTL, SKY, FOX, FUEL TV, Outside TV, Insight, DirecTV, DirecTV Latin, and 20th Century Fox.
The Winters Rock Entertainment team has a strong commitment to socially conscious projects from the award-winning short film “Ride A Wave” featuring the non-profit Best Day and their program that takes special needs children surfing, to a new feature length documentary featuring Liam’s Life and their work to end drinking and driving fatalities, and their new global music video project featuring Kiesza to raise awareness for First Responders during the Covid-19 pandemic, the team is committed to using the power of storytelling to help shape the world.
Winters Rock Entertainment is a full service production company and creative house offering a variety of services including films, television series, branded entertainment, project development, and consulting.
Wanting to help frontline healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, award-winning directors Rocky Romano and Miranda Winters were inspired by JUNO award-winning recording artist Kiesza’s song Storm after hearing it on her Instagram account. That inspiration led to the creation of a global music video project in collaboration with recording artists, architects, filmmakers, designers, engineers, street artists, curators, and over one hundred cinematographers across the planet.
