
Simon Alteen is an performance artist and writer from St. John’s, Newfoundland, currently studying at Trinity College Dublin. During his Bachelor of Arts at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Simon simultaneously worked as an actor while practicing his writing and language skills. After completing his B.A., Simon became a member of ACTRA, and entered full-time into the professional film and theatre industry in St. John’s. He received leading roles both onscreen and onstage, as well as awards for his work in regional festivals such as the NL Drama Festival. He has performed with some of the most renowned professional theatre companies in Newfoundland, including Rising Tide Theatre, as well as award-winning films such as Askin’ For It (Butter Pictures Inc.). Simon is currently receiving practical, classical acting training at The Lir National Academy of Dramatic Art at Trinity College Dublin. The Lir Academy is an associate to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts: a London based school where Simon briefly studied in 2015. At The Lir Academy, Simon is being taught and mentored by seasoned industry professionals in theatre, film, and television, that prepare and integrate artists into the national, and international arts community.
