Talkin’ Bout is a digital stop motion, mixed-media music video made entirely in Photoshop by Henry Was. Created for the experimental Jazz-Punk-Rock unit Thumpasaurus in which he drums and produces the music. It’s an absurdist journey through the Thumpaverse—a twisted plane where two bumbling protagonists—Dingus and Bingus— are metamorphosed through a journey of self discovery and purpose in a surreal and constantly evolving landscape. Dipping into the band’s ever evolving mythology, the viewer is taken through internal and external battles of confusion, self-doubt, and even the ear-splitting boredom of having someone (in this case an interstellar-tea-drinking walrus) talk endless nonsense in your direction. Eventually, they learn how to transcend and remove themselves from the cycle of assumed opinions and relax into a state of knowing unknowing—”the only wisdom is knowing you know nothing” -Socrates.
