Nakusa is a disabled girl who is deeply traumatized by the rejection of her mother at one week of age. Stuck inside her alienation, distorted perceptions and longings – she searches endlessly for the love we all need to survive or risks ceasing to exist.
Inspired by a traumatic event in Sergei Rachmaninoff’s life and his composition Prelude in D Major opus 23 no. 4.
The film is meant to be a visual representation of what it feels like to experience a life altering trauma and is crafted in “real time” to Rachmaninoff’s very haunting Prelude.
