Shanice Stanislaus:
Shanice started as a performing artist with Flamenco Sin Fronteras, and has since worked with esteemed theatre, dance and film practitioners internationally. Her films have premiered in various film festivals including the Guam international film festival and the Mallorca international film festival.
Jon Tan:
Jon Tan is a Director and Cinematographer who believes those job titles make him sound far more important than he actually is.
He also believes the world needs more working artists in it, so creative children have living proof that their dreams can come true. Jon has shot for clients such as VICE, Grab and the National Arts Council. His fashion film, That Hat! was an official selection at the 2020 Athens Fashion Film Festival, 2020 Fargo Film Festival and the 2020 Madrid MICRO Film Festival.
He also runs the boutique video production company, ROTOTORO.
Director Statement
This was an international collaboration, with Taiwanese and Singaporean musicians coming together to score and reinvent an old Taiwanese folk song into Flamenco style music. The dancers we worked with are Flamenco maestro himself Antonio Vargas and his wife Daphne Huang. Both are amazing dancers and it was a real honour working with great artists on this dance film.
