Ukweli Roach, Co- Founder and Artistic director of BirdGang ltd trained at the world-renowned Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) where he achieved a BA (hons) Degree in Acting.
Ukweli’s credits include Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue, Cheryl Cole, JLS, Alexandra Burke, X-Factor, ‘Streetdance 3D’ Movie (worldwide release), FKA Twigs, ‘BLAZE: The Streetdance Sensation’ (International Tour), Sony Music (Six-D, Talay Riley), Street Dancer 3 (Bollywood version) and Kyan Katuois. as well as working as an actor in the Film, Television and Theatre industries, most notably in NBC’s hit TV show ‘Blindspot’, Humans (C4), Hard Sun (BBC 1) and Grantchester (ITV 1).
He is most known for his original work ‘VICE’ which had its world premiere at Sadlers’ Wells, toured the UK, toured the USA (including the Harlem Apollo), and performed in Luxembourg, Barcelona, Toronto, Zimbabwe and Denver Colorado. This piece is currently being made into a full length show called ‘VICYCLE’ in collaboration with Breakin Convention and BirdGang Ltd, coming in 2021.
Kendra J. Horsburgh is a creative leader and movement architect. Founder and Managing Director of BirdGang Ltd, a leading Hip Hop theatre company Kendra has worked around the world since 2005. Fluent in a plethora of movement art forms and a strong foundation in narrative, Kendra creates for Musicals, Theatres, Film and TV. Specialising in immersive experiences Kendra explores new ways of consuming movement. Recognised not only for productions she has toured with, but also music videos and productions she has choreographed; both nationally and internationally. Her mission is to tell thought provoking stories, create vivid and striking experiences through Dance, Theatre, and Technology.
Well-travelled, fluent in four European languages, Kendra is currently associate Choreographer of & JULIET the West end musical (Max Martin) and Choreographer for CELEBRITY CRUISES new show. Kendra has worked on world tours such as BLAZE THE DANCE SENSATION (Sydney Opera House, Bangkok, Taiwan, Russia, Europe), JUNGLE BOOK (UK) and the LIMITLESS Diversity UK arena tour (UK). She has worked on FLIRTY DANCING (Channel 4), starred in the Got to Dance finals 2012, INTO THE HOODS (Royal Festival Hall) and the OLYMPIC RELAY (UK). She has choreographed music videos such as “You” by STARLING, “Busy Earnin” by JUNGLE, “Hold On” by INCOGNITO and featured in films such as HARRY HILL the Film and STREET DANCE 3D2. Movement direction is Kendra’s speciality and she has choreographed on DYNAMO’s “The power of X”, BRING THE NOIZE (SKY 1) and THE PAIN KILLER by Kenneth Branagh at the Garrick Theatre. Kendra’s original work includes “THE AVIARY” (Breakin’ Convention, Sadler’s Wells, San Francisco and commissioned by the British Council Sri Lanka), “THE NETWORK” (Luxembourg), “LANGUAGE OF LOVE” and “NOX: EVIDENCE OF ABSENCE 360 VR” are both the fruit of her creative inspiration and a promise of what is yet to come.
