
Award-winning filmmaker Marie-Emmanuelle Hartness writes, directs and produces character driven stories. A Berlinale Talents alumna 2014, she is a winner of the Berlinale Canon Competition, IFP alumna and First Prize Directorial Discovery Award winner at the Rhode Island International Film Festival for her short film AFTER ELLA. She is twice finalist at Women in Film International Short-case and selected in the “10 Filmmakers to Watch in 2014” by The Independent Magazine. Her productions include PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY for which she was co-nominated for a WGA Award. She is a Sundance Lab finalist 2015 with her script INDENTURED, Rhode Island International Film Festival 2015 finalist and Austin Film Festival second rounder 2017 and 2018. Her pilot TAVISTOCK is a Screencraft semi-finalist and Sundance Lab Episodic 2019 second rounder. Marie graduated from La Sorbonne in Theater Studies, UCLA Professional Screenwriting Program and Harvard School of Education. She teaches screenwriting at Emerson College.
