Glass Ship is a narrative music video for IDM/electronic artist Defrag. It navigates a space between two disparate worlds, following a man haunted by the spectre of a strange being in a black void that somehow influences his reality.

Director Biography – Sam Balcomb
Sam Balcomb is a co-founder of Rainfall Films, spearheading its production, visual effects, and advertising divisions. As a director, he’s filmed the company’s wide-ranging and award-winning shorts, trailers and commercials. In the post world he oversees VFX, motion graphics, and design for feature films and television, ranging from independent productions to studio tentpoles.
After graduating from Art Center College of Design’s acclaimed film program in 2002, Sam began work on commercials and music videos for Nelly, Amerie, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, and many more. His editorial and design work led to becoming Lead VFX Supervisor at Burbank-based L2 Digital.
Sam has designed and filmed national network spots for ABC Studios and IGN, music videos, television specials, and creative videos. He has been featured on Good Morning America, The Today Show, Rolling Stone, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, and Entertainment Weekly.
