Short Film: FFAALL (THE TRAGEDY OF SATAN), 10min., UK

Directed by Joe Morgan
A fallen angel finds himself in a world of suffocating opulence and illusion where nothing is as it seems.
A collaboration between celebrated contemporary composer Rakhi Singh (Manchester Collective) and film director Joe Morgan, FFAALL is a short cinematic opera inspired by Milton’s Paradise Lost.
Created in different spaces in London’s Royal Opera House during the UK’s covid-19 crisis, FFAALL explores themes of social isolation and anxiety.
The film features the otherworldly choreography and performance of Manchester-based artist Blackhaine alongside soprano Mimi Doulton with music by Rakhi Singh, Sebastian Gainsborough and Nicola Matteis.
FFAALL was commissioned by the Royal Opera House as part of thier 8-Bit series of films in April 2021.
