Short Film: FEEL AT EASE (Sinta-se a Vontade), 7min., Brazil, Dance

Theatro Municipal de São Paulo is the biggest Opera House in Brazil and an important landmark of the city. With over 100 years old, it is a living patrimony that opens its doors to the city and its diverse public.
The Opera House is a lavish building and has risen as an aspirational symbol for the members of the high society in São Paulo.

Brazil has one of the highest social inequality rates in the world and is home to a great mix of peoples and cultures. Theatro Municipal has long been trying to bring access to culture for all, but due to its history, potency, and exuberance, people still feel intimidated by it.

This film intends to literally open its doors to all people and invite them in to feel comfortable to access art in all forms.

The film is a 5 minute sequence shot that accompanies a man walking thru the loud and grey streets of the city and ends up with him at the stage of its great Theatre. The sounds, the light, and the magic of the theatre are imprinted during these minutes of a dancing possession where it awakens the viewer’s curiosity and senses.
