The FEEDBACK Monthly Film Festival is back for 2018.. Our home is The Carlton Cinemas, located in the heart of downtown Toronto at 20 Carlton Street. The event runs from 7pm to 9:10pm.

Continuing to showcase the best of short films from around the world, while maintaining our audience feedback format moderated by Kierston Drier. Showcasing a festival twice a month in Toronto in 2018!

Tickets for 2018 are PAY WHAT YOU LIKE.

If you like to obtain seats in advance and pick them up on the day of the event (come for FREE, or make a donation), please email us at tickets@wildsound.ca and we’ll reserve seats for you.

You can pick up the tickets on the day of the event at the cinema. Tickets are first come, first serve. This festival has sold out 76 out of its last 78 events!

Ground Fine is a screendance with original music that takes a light-hearted look at our obsession with food cravings and behaviors detrimental to our health. It was commissioned by Basin Arts and Runaway Dish for a collaboration between choreographers and chefs and premiered at the Acadiana Center for the Arts in Lafayette Louisiana.

The music video for “Mirrors” unites the extraordinary sound of composer and multi-instrumentalist Julian Scherle with the magic, mysticism and magnitude of Iceland’s nature. Scherle’s cineastic sound, accompanied by alternating visual structures and breathtaking landscapes, evokes a wealth of overflowing emotions within the viewer.

This animation made of 2500 paintings tells the story of a man who tries to run away from his fate. He is seeking for success, fame, happiness and love… But the city is too strong and he can’t win. Sadly, he becomes a powerless witness of his own fall, just like a bee trapped in a spiderweb.

Based on the eponymous dance piece, Vacuum generates impossible images and fantastic paintings. An interplay of bodies appearing and disappearing between black holes and dazzling lights. This duo, third part in an ongoing series called Dispositifs (stage devices) in convergence with visual arts, explores further the visual perception of movement. The result is lyrical and inspiring, as it moves forward through the history of art, from Renaissance paintings to photographic development.

A feast is laid out on a table nestled among the roots of a tree in a forest. In a 16mm time-lapse the food gradually rots. Watching this time pass, our imagination conjures images of various things, including death, and spins its own tales until eventually, as the table becomes a mound of grass and new shoots begin to grow, while being struck and shaken by the mystical nature of time we come to embrace the rebirth of hope.

Incarceration is not a single or discrete event, but a dynamic process that unfolds over time and affects families for generations. Separate Sentence (2016) is a 15-minute dance/theater film that draws upon individual experiences and physical memories of a cast comprised of Bay Area artists – some of whom are fathers or sons who have experienced incarceration. The film was shot throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

LAND OF MINE is an experimental macro short which is made with acrylic paint and ink on paper. The idea was to recreate the unique look on planet earth from space which sometimes rather appears like an abstract piece of art than a real photo. From far away, the surface of our planet shows the beauty of it’s landscapes, coasts and the sea in perfect order. It’s highly expressive visual aesthetics and it’s contextual narrative inspired me to create an artistic interpretation of what I’ll never see with my own eyes.

The music video Sunflower Sutra is about finding your totem in the animal kingdom. The rooster, hare and pig; that stand for the constellations of My Baby’s band members, go through different phases where they discover their self during the totem ceremony. The video is divided into three sections: birth, ceremony and rebirth, each represented by a new twist in the track’s pacey sense of snaking momentum. The spiritual animals eventually breaking apart after finding their personal totem and feeling stronger than before. All handmade masks, outfits, and magic settings come together in a new surrealistic prehistoric dance world where it’s about finding your spiritual animal.
