Short Film: PANDEMIA, 4min., Germany, Music/Experimental

D78fa6a196 posterPandemia
An experimental movie such as an art music video which shows the relationship between human kind and nature and how it has evolved through the artistic perspective of dance. The viral pandemic is the theme. I got my inspiration from the strange rythm of the music and its sound easthetic, also choosing dance moves from my own point of view representing aspects of the destruction of nature by humans relating to the pandemic. As the dancer and actor, I represent mother nature illustrated by different facial expressions and gestures, such as, being torn, weakness, the mechanization of natural movement as a form of violation by humans and then in return, nature throwing a virus back to us, for our destruction.

Short Film: BONDIARIES, 3min., Germany, Dance

Bd19c47d9a posterLuxembourgish dancer & photographer Jill Bettendorff and french dancer Wilfried Ebongue fell in love in the german capital 5 years ago. Coming from different social, cultural & artistic backgrounds, it has been their challenge ever since to find a common & new ground, whether it was on a private or professional level. They never let their differences define them so they´ve been striving to find their own boundaries, limitation, comfort & discomfort zones, to who they are as a couple, personally & artistically.

They teamed up with german videographer Torben Loth to create a video where they explore different constellations that can happen within a relationship, based on the three words: dependence, independence & interdependence.
The video shows a conceptual performance that moves through those different stages.

Starting with dependence, a space where one is guided by the other regardless of one person’s needs. Moving through independence where we move on our own without needing the support of the other to finally arrive in a space of interdependence where we give ourselves the freedom to be ourselves & equally support each other.

Short Film: WATERMORPHOSIS, 4min., Germany, Dance

Weightlessly, life moves through dark infinity, a mystical space without threat. The dance embodies the beauty of nature, appears innocent. But as suddenly as it arises, it becomes vulnerable and physical – life is suffocated by dead matter. Plastic. Reality. An estimated 5 – 12 million tons of plastic waste reach our oceans every year. – Where does it come from? Where is it going? What remains? These and other questions are posed by the short film Watermorphosis. Abstractly staged, based on facts, it forms an image, a feeling, a thought – open to interpretations and dreams.

Short Film: MIRRORS, 3min., Germany, Music Video

041dec6c2e posterThe music video for “Mirrors” unites the extraordinary sound of composer and multi-instrumentalist Julian Scherle with the magic, mysticism and magnitude of Iceland’s nature. Scherle’s cineastic sound, accompanied by alternating visual structures and breathtaking landscapes, evokes a wealth of overflowing emotions within the viewer. Fantastic Iceland shots and fascinating visual effects create mesmerizing, dream-like sequences. The video was produced by Cologne-based agency GROSSE8 and filmed under the direction of Manfred Borsch. “It’s about chaos; about ugliness transforming itself into something positive,“ says Borsch. “Stress and anxiety dissolve through isolation, clearing the view for the beauty of everyday things.”

Julian, aka Són, is a German-raised, Los Angeles-based composer, music producer, multi-instrumentalist and artist. Scherle’s music has been featured on high profile and critically acclaimed projects such as “American Horror Story” and “Scream”. He helped shape the score of the hit show “Mr. Robot”, which won an Emmy for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series in 2016.

Són’s first release, “Rituals” was created over the course of 2016 and 2017 and combines organic electronica with driving rock elements. This work conceptually reflects an exploration of modern day rituals and their influence on mankind. After the completion of Rituals, Scherle passed along the concept to five befriended directors to visually explore this topic and gain different perspectives as a collective.

In mathematics, plus minus indicates a choice of exactly two possible values, one of which is the negation of the other.
This is my interpretation of a couple trying to survive the insurmountable differences between them.
